Over the years, the city of Dallas has become associated with a number of iconic images: a towering Big Tex, a lit-up Reunion Tower, a certain fictional oil tycoon and even a frozen margarita. Pioneer Plaza
We are visiting Pioneer Plaza in the heart of Dallas for a Texas-sized photo op, or simply a sight of the largest bronze monument on earth. Multiple strands of American history come together at this popular downtown site – the plaza's famous monument commemorates the epic cattle drives that followed the Shawnee Trail across the West.
Thanks-Giving Square
Inspired by the Great Mosque in Iraq, the spiral-shaped chapel explores unity while representing the diversity of different faith and traditions. The aptly named Glory Window has a spiral ceiling that contains one of the largest horizontally mounted stained-glass windows in the world. Join us to discover one of Philip Johnson's masterpieces.
Dealey Plaza
The Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District in Dallas might be most associated with the JFK assassination, but there's much more history here than in 1963. It's also the city's only national historic district and one of only five such districts in the state. Our program includes Delaey Plaza, the Grassy Knowl, and the infamous Elm Street crosses.
Arts District
Located in the northeast corner of downtown Dallas, the Dallas Arts District is known for the strikingly angular Meyerson Symphony Center, the lavish Winspear Opera House, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. This iconic neighborhood has more buildings designed by Pritzker award-winning architects than any location worldwide.
The Adolphus
Constructed in 1912, the Adolphus is not only one of the finest in the city but also the most haunted. The hotel is reportedly plagued by the blighted ghost of a bride left at the altar, along with a few unlucky souls who met their untimely death in the building's cavernous elevator shaft.
